My GenealogyinTime toolbar has introduced me to some interesting sites.

GenWriters – even if you don’t plan to write a book about your family, there are still plenty of tips for genealogists here, including a large resources section, and several tutorials. Mainly for those in the US, but still worth reading as many hints can apply worldwide.

Utah Gravestone Photos If like me you have ancestors who followed the Mormon Trail to Utah, this site lets you search by cemetery or by name. Unlike many UK gravestones, eaten away by the industrial revolution, the clean air of Utah means graves can be read much more easily. You can often pin down that elusive ancestor in a graveyard.

You can also find gravestone photos at the Ireland Genealogy Project, as well as much more information. Organised by county, it covers both Northern Ireland and Eire. Military, newspaper, census and census substitutes, church records are some of the sections – all these rely on submissions from researchers, so if you have information to share contact the co-ordinator for the relevant county.
